| Obverse description | Cast silver oval planchet with a plain, slightly convex field displaying two large Japanese characters in the centre: '八' (hachi, eight) above '匁' (monme), denoting the denomination of eight momme. A single circular seal stamp reading '改' (kai, revised) is applied in the upper right area of the field. Six additional circular seal stamps, each bearing the character '融' (yū, finance/circulation), are impressed at the corners and lateral midpoints of the planchet, serving as authenticating marks of the issuing authority. |
