| Obverse description | Central device comprises the Sol de Mayo, depicted as a radiant sun with alternating straight and wavy rays emanating from a human face rendered in low relief at the center of the field. The facial features — eyes, nose, and mouth — are boldly engraved in a stylized manner characteristic of early Argentine provincial coinage. The peripheral legend encircles the design, reading PROVINCIAS DEL RIO DE LA PLATA, separated by a single star at the base, with a beaded border running along the rim. |
