Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse displays the host coin's central design of the early Chilean republic: two volcanoes separated by a sea, surmounted by a radiant sun rising above the horizon, all enclosed within a wreath of laurel and oak branches tied at the base. In the lower segment, separated by a horizontal line, the date A.D. 1818 appears. Superimposed at center is the Philippine countermark of Ferdinand VII, comprising a crowned 'F.7°' punch applied within a circular indent, authenticating the coin for circulation in the Spanish Colonial Philippines. The peripheral legend EL ESTADO DE CHILE CONSTIT · INDEPENDIENTE arcs around the wreath, reading from lower left to upper right, separated by dot stops.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents the early arms of the Republic of Chile: a centrally placed oval shield bearing crossed cannon below a star, flanked by two crossed flags and surmounted by a five-pointed star, all enclosed within a wreath of laurel branches joined at the base by crossed stems. The peripheral legend POR LA RAZON, O LA FUERZA arcs around the upper field, with the denomination 8E, assayer initial I, and the date 1826 distributed within the lower legend, separated by dot stops. The die was produced at the Santiago Mint (So), and the overall execution reflects the characteristic style of early republican Chilean coinage.
