| Obverse description | Two heraldic shields displayed side by side in the central field, surmounted by a mitre; a crossed pastoral staff and crosier appear in saltire behind the shields. The composition is executed in high relief in the robust Renaissance style characteristic of mid-sixteenth-century Salzburg coinage. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, separated from the central device by a beaded inner ring. |
