| 背面描述 | The oval reverse features a dynamic sculptural composition of interlocking mRNA double-helix strand segments rendered in high relief, referencing Karikó's groundbreaking research in messenger RNA technology. The helical structures extend across the upper and right portions of the field, conveying scientific motion and discovery. To the lower left, the legends MAGYARORSZÁG, 7500 FORINT, and BP. 2024 appear in three lines of raised Latin text, identifying the issuing country, denomination, mint mark, and year of issue. A small engraver's mark is visible at the lower right of the field. |

Issued to honor Katalin Karikó following her 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, shared with Drew Weissman for their work on mRNA modification — research conducted largely during decades when Karikó was demoted, had her funding cut, and was working at the University of Pennsylvania without faculty status. The Hungarian state's commemorative enthusiasm is a notable reversal: Karikó left Hungary in 1985 with $1,200 sewn into a teddy bear, having sold her car to fund the move after the Hungarian Academy of Sciences cancelled her position.
