The heading reads 'Notgeld der Universitätsstadt Jena' in decorative Fraktur lettering across the top. At lower left, a validity clause is set in small black type; at lower right appear two manuscript facsimile signatures above the titles 'Oberbürgermeister' and 'Vorsitzender', with the date 'Jena, 1. At centre-right, two facing portrait busts in left profile — identified by a ribbon banner at the foot as Schiller and Goethe — are rendered in a bold woodcut-like style. Behind them, to the left, stands a multi-storey classical mansion set within a landscaped garden with trees and a fountain, evoking the poets' sojourn in Jena. The denomination '75' appears in large white numerals at lower left, accompanied by a small decorative mark, with a fine border frame enclosing the entire composition. |
