| Obverse description | The left half of the obverse is occupied by a monochrome photographic portrait vignette of the German dramatist and novelist Hermann Sudermann, identified by a captioned tablet below his image. The right half carries the Notgeld title text in bold Fraktur script, with the issuing authority and region (Memelgebiet) stated beneath; the denomination "PFEN 75 NIG" is rendered in large blue letterpress numerals, the figure "75" set within a white oval cartouche. A serial number, the place and date of issue (Heydekrug, den 28. Mai 1921), the municipal authority line "Der Gemeindevorstand", and a validity clause appear in the lower right, with a manuscript signature below. The note is framed by a decorative geometric border with blue corner squares. |
