Opmerkingen

This note was never issued for circulation. It was produced as a specimen or souvenir piece — the gold foil bonded substrate alone rules out any practical monetary use, as the production cost per unit would have vastly exceeded the face value at the time. Belize's Central Bank authorized it specifically as a collector item, a practice that became more common among smaller Caribbean and Central American issuers during the 1980s as a modest hard-currency revenue stream.

The CS designation in the Pick reference confirms its non-circulating status. Fewer catalog entries exist for this piece than for standard Belizean issues of the period, and auction appearances remain infrequent.
