| Popis rubu | Four large Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) are arranged in cruciform fashion around a central rayed sun motif, reading 紹治通寶 (Thiệu Trị Thông Bảo), meaning 'Circulating Treasure of Thiệu Trị.' The characters are positioned at the cardinal points — 紹 (top), 治 (bottom), 通 (right), and 寶 (left) — each rendered in bold, well-formed strokes.
