背面描述 The reverse centres on a vignette of the original Shaheed Minar erected in 1952, flanked by a Krishnachura (Delonix regia) flower branch at upper left. Portrait medallions of the five martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement — Abul Barkat, Rafiq Uddin Ahmed, Shafiur Rahman, Abdul Jabbar, and Abdus Salam — are arranged across the upper portion, each identified by name in Bengali script. The Bangladesh Bank logo appears at lower right, set within a finely ruled guilloche border.

备注

The denomination of 60 Taka was created solely for this commemorative issue — it has no place in Bangladesh's ordinary currency system and was never intended for everyday transactions. The note marks sixty years since the Language Movement of February 21, 1952, when students at the University of Dhaka defied a government ban on public assembly and were shot dead by police for protesting the imposition of Urdu as the sole state language of Pakistan. That date eventually became International Mother Language Day, recognized by UNESCO in 1999.

Printed entirely in-country by the Security Printing Corporation in Gazipur, the run of just over twelve million pieces was modest for a commemorative — suggesting it was aimed at collectors rather than mass distribution. The watermark-only security specification reflects that limited-circulation intent.
