| Opmerkingen |
The 60-dollar denomination exists for one reason: Namibia's independence, proclaimed on 21 March 1990, and this note marks 35 years of it. Commemorative denominations tied to anniversaries are uncommon in southern Africa — the round-number instinct usually wins — which makes this a minor but genuine curiosity in the region's modern output.
Printed on polymer, as the Bank of Namibia has favored for commemorative issues. Whether it sees meaningful circulation or migrates straight into collector holdings will determine its long-term availability in used grades.
