Bruck im Pinzgau is a small market town in the Salzburg Alps, and this 60 Heller note belongs to the vast wave of Austrian municipal Notgeld issued from around 1920 onward, when chronic coin shortages forced even minor communes to print their own fractional currency. The designer credit to Zückert is unusually specific for a piece of this type — most village Notgeld went unsigned or credited only a local printer.
Three signatures authenticate the issue: the Bürgermeister, whose name is now illegible, alongside Josef Würzinger and Richard Leeb, likely municipal officials countersigning on behalf of the commune.
