| Opmerkingen |
Krummnussbaum is a small market town on the Danube in Lower Austria, and this 60 Heller Notgeld is one of dozens of municipal emergency issues that flooded the region between 1920 and 1922 as postwar coin shortages made everyday transactions genuinely difficult. The Austrian state was in no position to remedy the problem quickly, so the burden fell to individual Gemeinden, each contracting with whatever regional printer could deliver.
Langhammer of Linz handled a number of Lower Austrian municipal commissions during this period. Reittinger's design work appears on several Notgeld issues from the area, suggesting a working relationship with the printer rather than a direct municipal commission.
