The lower register reveals a cross-sectional underground view of mine shafts and galleries, with miners shown at work within the excavations. Billowing clouds and a laurel branch appear in the upper field, and a chain-link border frames the entire composition. The scene is rendered with exceptional engraving detail in the characteristic Baroque manner of Brunswick Löser coinage. |
