The shield is flanked by the Pillars of Hercules, each surmounted by a crown and wrapped with a flowing ribbon bearing the motto PLUS VLTRA. A royal crown surmounts the entire achievement. The circumferential legend identifies the issuing authority and denomination, with the Mexico City mint mark (Mo), assayer initials, and the denomination 8R clearly legible around the periphery. |
