Reverse description Central device comprising two traditional Shona wirework battle-axes crossed in saltire, their hafts and intricately decorated blades rendered in fine relief, with the designer's initials K·G incuse at the crossing point. The four-digit date is divided either side of the crossed axes, reading 19 and 35, while the large numeral 6 appears prominently below. The legend SOUTHERN RHODESIA arcs around the upper periphery, and the denomination PENCE is inscribed along the lower rim, all within a beaded border.
