正面描述	Crowned and draped bust of King Charles I facing left, wearing a lace ruff collar, with the Roman numeral VI (denoting the denomination) positioned to the right of the portrait in the field. The effigy depicts the king in his first bust type, characteristic of the early years of his reign, rendered in the hammered style typical of Tower Mint production. The legend encircles the bust, interrupted by the mintmark at the beginning of the inscription.

The date 1625 appears above the shield in the field. The mintmark appears at the beginning of the surrounding legend, which is divided and reads across the four sides of the shield.
