Obverse description Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and curled in the fashion of the period. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the lace and drapery of the décolletage. The surrounding legend commences at approximately 8 o'clock and reads M THERESIA D G R IMP GE HU BO REG. The coin border features a dentilated inner rim characteristic of Habsburg milled coinage of the mid-eighteenth century.

Reverse description Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle displayed, with the shield of Tyrol — featuring the red and white Tyrolean eagle — placed at the centre of the eagle's breast. The value is expressed in Roman numerals (VI) in the lower field beneath the eagle. The surrounding legend reads ARCH AUST DUX BU COM TYR with the date 1748 incorporated into the legend, distributed around the eagle in the customary Habsburg style.
