Obverse description Half-length armored effigy of Archduke Ferdinand II of Habsburg, Count of Tyrol, facing right, wearing elaborately decorated plate armor. The right hand holds a sceptre and the left hand a sword, with a long flowing scarf or mantle billowing behind the figure. The portrait is rendered in a formal Renaissance style and is enclosed within an inner twisted or beaded circle. The surrounding legend reads FERDINA D G ARCHID AVS in Latin characters.
