The outer circular legend reads DAT DEUS APPLAUDUNT PIETAS ET COPIA RERUM, while a four-line chronological inscription in the exergue records the key dates: ELECT D 14 APR HOMAGIUM PRAEST D 26 IUN CONSE CRAT D 5 OCTOB MDCCXLIX, commemorating the election, homage, and consecration of the Prince-Bishop in 1749.
