| Beschrijving voorzijde | Obverse of the host Spanish colonial 8 Reales, showing a laureate and draped royal bust in right profile, with flowing drapery visible at the shoulder. Applied over the field of the host coin is a rectangular incuse countermark bearing the letters 'S' over 'VI' in two lines, struck by the Colonial Government of Saint Vincent to validate the coin for local circulation. The countermark is boldly impressed in an upright rectangular punch, centrally placed on the bust side of the host coin. The underlying design of the host coin, including portions of the royal portrait and surrounding legends, remains partially visible beneath the countermark. |
