Obverse description Central field features the royal crown of Nepal depicted within a circular inner border, rendered in fine relief detail. Surrounding the central motif is an ornate geometrically segmented octagonal frame with decorative corner elements including floral and star ornaments, enclosed within a square border. Devanagari legends fill the panels of the octagonal surround, inscribing the royal titulature of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah. The Vikrama Samvat year 2031 appears in Devanagari numerals at the base of the square frame, with the coronation legend reading 'शुभ राज्याभिषेक' (Auspicious Coronation) below in the outer field. A dotted border runs along the coin's circumference.

The inner circle is surrounded by a lotus-petal shaped outer border composed of stylized petal segments, each containing a syllable of the royal titulature in Devanagari script.
