Aanvullende informatie

HMS Investigator is best known for the 1850–1854 Arctic expedition under Robert McClure, during which the crew became the first to complete the Northwest Passage — though largely on foot across the ice rather than by ship. The vessel was abandoned in Mercy Bay in 1853 after becoming icebound, and remained frozen there for over a century. McClure's crew was rescued by a sledge party from HMS Resolute.

Uganda's connection to the ship is purely commercial — the early 2000s saw a proliferation of Pacific and African island and nation issues depicting historic vessels, produced for the collector market with no meaningful tie to the issuing authority.
