(Translation: Banknote of the State Treasury of the USSR, Five Rubles, State treasury bills are provided with all property of the USSR and are obligatory to be accepted throughout the USSR for all payments for all institutions, enterprises and individuals at face value.)
Reverse description	The reverse carries the large Cyrillic legend ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ within an elaborate guilloche underprint, below which the denomination is rendered in all fourteen official languages of the Soviet Union arranged in parallel lines across the centre of the note. A cautionary anti-counterfeiting inscription in Cyrillic runs along the lower portion of the design.
