Opmerkingen

The 'light panel' designation distinguishes this issue from the darker security background used on earlier 5000 Rial printings — a modification Harrison & Sons introduced mid-series, likely to improve watermark legibility against the base tinting. The two signature combinations place this note across a narrow administrative window: Farmanfarmaian was governor from 1968 until late 1971, Jahanshahi succeeded him briefly before the Shah's 1973 reorganization of the central bank's leadership structure.

At 5000 Rials, this was the highest denomination in regular circulation during Iran's oil-boom years, and surviving examples with honest wear are less common than their uncirculated counterparts — the note's value discouraged casual handling.
