Obverse description Violet and lilac intaglio-printed note with a central vignette of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi in military uniform, set within an ornate scalloped frame. The Bank Markazi Iran title appears in Persian script along the top band, flanked by the denomination numeral 5000 in Persian script at upper corners, with guilloche borders running along all four edges. The denomination پنج هزار ریال is inscribed in Persian script to the right of the portrait, with two signature facsimiles below.

Reverse description Violet intaglio-printed vignette of the Golestan Palace in Tehran, viewed across a formal reflecting pool flanked by tall cypress trees, rendered in fine engraved detail. The inscription BANK MARKAZI IRAN appears in Roman lettering across the top, with the denomination RIALS 5000 in a cartouche at the bottom centre. Persian script legends and the numeral 5000 appear at upper and lower corners, with a decorative floral guilloche border framing the entire design.
