Opmerkingen

The 5000 Ouguiya was Mauritania's highest circulating denomination when this series was issued, a country where the Ouguiya itself was already subdivided into Khoums at a ratio of 5:1 — one of only two currencies in the world structured that way, alongside the Malagasy Ariary. G&D's Leipzig facility handled the contract, as they had for numerous West African central banks throughout the 2000s.

Pick 21 replaced an earlier series that had faced increasing counterfeiting pressure — the holographic strip on this issue was a direct response.
