Descrizione del dritto	The obverse displays the coat of arms of the Republic of Gabon at centre, featuring a shield supported by two rampant black panthers and surmounted by a tree with laurel branches; the shield bears three discs above and a sailing ship below, with a scroll at the base inscribed UNION TRAVAIL JUSTICE. The legend RÉPUBLIQUE GABONAISE arcs along the upper periphery, with 999/1000 FINE GOLD below it in a secondary arc. The motto UNITI PROGREDIEMUR appears on a ribbon across the upper shield, and the mint mark SCM is visible to the lower left field. The denomination 5000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed in bold relief along the lower periphery, with six stars distributed symmetrically on either side of the coat of arms.
