The CFA franc zone has never had a tradition of large-format bullion coinage — these pieces are struck under authorization from the Ivory Coast but produced entirely for the international collector market, bearing no practical relationship to the currency actually circulating in Abidjan. The BCEAO, which manages monetary policy for the eight-nation West African Economic and Monetary Union, has no involvement in their production.
Rhodium plating on silver became a collector-market fixture in the 2010s, primarily to produce high-contrast finishes that photograph well for online sales. It adds no numismatic pedigree.
