The full Armenian alphabet encircles the central letter in a continuous band running around the inner periphery of the coin, presented in traditional Armenian script. A small decorative cross or floral ornament separates the beginning and end of the alphabetic legend. The overall design celebrates the Armenian written tradition established by Mesrop Mashtots. |
