| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a large, centrally positioned artistic rendering of the Armenian letter Ի (I), the twelfth letter of the Armenian alphabet, depicted in an ornate illuminated manuscript style within a decorative rectangular cartouche featuring intricate interlaced floral and geometric motifs. To the right of the cartouche, a stylized shadow or relief impression of the same letter appears in the open field. The complete Armenian alphabet is inscribed in a continuous legend encircling the design along the rim, with the featured letter Ի highlighted by a small separator device. The overall composition evokes the rich tradition of Armenian manuscript illumination. |

Part of Armenia's 38-coin gold series honoring each letter of the Armenian alphabet, itself one of the most nationally charged scripts in existence — created by the monk Mesrop Mashtots around 405 AD specifically to translate the Bible and, critically, to resist cultural absorption by Persia and Byzantium. The letter Ի (pronounced roughly as a long "i") occupies the nineteenth position in the classical ordering established by Mashtots, an arrangement that has remained essentially unchanged for over 1,600 years.
