Issued in honor of Lech Kaczyński, Poland's president killed in the 2010 Smolensk air disaster alongside 95 others — including much of the country's senior military and civilian leadership — this coin appeared eleven years after the crash, during a period when the disaster's causes remained a source of bitter political division in Poland. The Polish government under PiS had by 2021 pursued its own investigation contradicting the original findings, keeping the tragedy unresolved in public discourse.
The title phrase derives from a speech Kaczyński delivered in Tbilisi in August 2008, during Russia's military intervention in Georgia.
