Reverse description The reverse presents a bold right-facing bust portrait of Władysław II Jagiełło (Ladislaus II Jagiellon), King of Poland, wearing a crown and royal mantle with visible ornamentation including a decorative brooch. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail, occupying the central and lower fields. The legend WŁADYSŁAW II JAGIEŁŁO arcs along the upper periphery in two segments flanking the portrait. The inscription PRÓBA (trial/pattern) appears to the right in the field. The regnal dates 1386 and 1434 are inscribed in two lines in the lower right field, denoting the years of his reign.
