Her crown is surmounted by a cross finial, and her hair flows in waves beneath the veil. The inscription HEDVIGIS. arcs above the effigy in widely-spaced capital letters, and the engraver's initials appear in small relief at the lower right of the truncation. The portrait is rendered in a medallic sculptural style, with deeply modelled relief that showcases the coin's proof finish to striking effect. |
