Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features a detailed depiction of a traditional Korean multi-tiered gate tower (resembling Namdaemun), rendered in fine relief and set upon a rusticated stone base with decorative rock formations and sparse vegetation at its foot. The circular legend around the periphery reads in Hangul characters, with the fineness specification 'Ag 999' and weight '12g' flanking the lower field in Latin characters. The denomination '500 WON' appears in large Latin lettering along the lower rim, completing the design.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a finely engraved scene commemorating the 170th anniversary of Russia's first public railway line between Saint Petersburg and Tsarskoye Selo, inaugurated in 1837. The central motif depicts a period steam locomotive travelling to the right along receding rails, with billowing smoke issuing from its stack; to the left, period figures in 19th-century dress observe the train's passage before a backdrop of log-built station buildings. The legend 'FIRST PUBLIC RAILWAY' arcs across the upper field in bold Latin letters, while the Cyrillic inscription 'САНКТ-ПЕТЕРБУРГ - ЦАРСКОЕ СЕЛО' curves along the lower periphery. The commemorative dates '1837 - 2007' appear in the lower central field beneath the locomotive.
