Additional information

The Tsarskoye Selo Railway, opened in October 1837, was Russia's first public railway and ran just 27 kilometers from St. Petersburg to the imperial residence at Tsarskoye Selo. The line was built partly as a curiosity — Tsar Nicholas I was skeptical of railways as a strategic liability — and initially operated with horse-drawn cars before steam locomotives took over within months of opening.

North Korea's numismatic program has issued collector silver under the Central Bank's authority since the 1970s, targeting foreign hard-currency buyers rather than domestic circulation. KM#441 belongs to a broader transportation history series with no meaningful connection to DPRK history.
