Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse is printed on a lavender and coral polymer substrate with a large transparent oval window at right incorporating a shell motif in intaglio. At upper left, the bank title "RESERVE BANK OF VANUATU" appears in red, with the denomination "500 / FIVE HUNDRED VATU" in dark ink at centre-top over a multicolour guilloche underprint. A central vignette renders a traditionally dressed ni-Vanuatu warrior in fine intaglio engraving, set within a circular guilloche, with a foliate sprig and the national motto scroll "Long God yumi stanap" below. The full-colour official logo of the Vanuatu 2017 Pacific Mini Games appears at centre-left, with two signature lines for Governor and Minister of Finance, and a small yellow map of the Vanuatu archipelago visible at right.

Opmerkingen

Vanuatu issued this commemorative polymer note specifically for the 2017 South Pacific Mini Games, hosted in Port Vila that December — one of the few times a Pacific island nation has marked a regional sporting event with a dedicated banknote rather than a coin. Note Printing Australia produced it on Guardian substrate, the same platform used for several Pacific island issues of the period, which keeps printing costs manageable for low-volume commemoratives.

Pick 20 is a one-and-done issue. It was not intended to replace the circulating 500 Vatu series and was produced in limited quantities, meaning genuine circulation wear is rare.
