Superimposed above the townscape is a large heraldic shield bearing the arms of Carniola, flanked by a quartered coat of arms. The historic date '1593' appears prominently above the central design, commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Christian victory over the Ottoman forces at the Battle of Sisak.
