| 正面描述 | The obverse features the Soyombo national emblem of Mongolia at center, a columnar arrangement of abstract and geometric symbols representing fire, sun, moon, earth, water, and the yin-yang (taijitu), serving as the focal national symbol. The denomination and country name appear in the legend surrounding the emblem, inscribed in both Mongolian script and Latin characters. Additional inscriptions identify the gold content, weight, and year of issue within the field. |

Part of Mongolia's long-running lunar calendar bullion series, this issue marks the Year of the Dog under the traditional sexagenary cycle observed across East and Central Asia. Mongolia began producing these small-format gold pieces in the early 2000s, targeting the collector and gift market tied to Lunar New Year observance — a commercially shrewd move given Mongolia's geographic and cultural proximity to China, its largest trading partner.
At 1.24 grams, the coin contains almost exactly 1/25 troy ounce of fine gold.
