Beschrijving voorzijde A detailed perspective view of the interior of the Admont Abbey Library (Stiftsbibliothek Admont), rendered in fine relief, depicting the grand Baroque hall with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, ornate balconies, arched colonnades receding toward a central doorway, and an elaborately decorated ceiling fresco featuring allegorical figures. The legend STIFTSBIBLIOTHEK ADMONT curves along the upper rim of the coin. Below the architectural scene, the inscriptions REPUBLIK OSTERREICH, 500 SCHILLING, and 1998 appear in three lines across the lower field. The engraver's initials TP appear in the lower right area of the design.

Beschrijving keerzijde A detailed relief scene depicting two craftsmen at work in a historical printing workshop, evoking the era of early book printing. At left, a younger assistant operates a screw-type hand press, applying ink to the typeset form using a hand-held ink ball, while at right a bearded master printer examines a freshly printed sheet. In the lower foreground, an open book, additional ink balls, and a cloth rest on a low bench beside a stack of printed sheets. The engraver's signature H. WÄHNER is incised vertically along the right inner border. The field is unlettered, with all narrative conveyed through the figural composition.
