The legend STIFTSBIBLIOTHEK ADMONT curves along the upper rim of the coin. | Descrizione del rovescio | A detailed relief scene depicting two craftsmen at work in a historical printing workshop, evoking the era of early book printing. At left, a younger assistant operates a screw-type hand press, applying ink to the typeset form using a hand-held ink ball, while at right a bearded master printer examines a freshly printed sheet. In the lower foreground, an open book, additional ink balls, and a cloth rest on a low bench beside a stack of printed sheets. The engraver's signature H. WÄHNER is incised vertically along the right inner border. The field is unlettered, with all narrative conveyed through the figural composition. |
