He is shown three-quarter facing, grasping the sledge's curved runners, surrounded by tall coniferous trees whose branches frame the composition. Behind him, a load of logs secured by a chain is visible, evoking traditional Alpine timber-hauling activity. The highly detailed relief captures the movement and texture of the forest setting with consummate artistry. The field is otherwise unlettered, the design filling the full coin diameter to the inner rim. |
