Beschrijving voorzijde	At left, an intaglio portrait of Sookdeo Bissoondoyal (1908–1977), Mauritian political and social reformer, is set against a warm amber and brown guilloche underprint. The denomination "FIVE HUNDRED RUPEES" is rendered centrally in bold letterpress in English, Tamil, and Hindi, with the Coat of Arms of Mauritius at lower left and a scales-of-justice vignette at lower right. A holographic foil patch occupies the upper right, and two signature lines with the date 2010 appear below the central inscription.
