| Obverse description | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, modelled by engraver Martin Jennings, rendered in high relief with finely detailed facial features and natural hair. The circumferential legend reads CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 500 POUNDS · 2026, running continuously around the field. The engraver's initials MJ appear in small incuse letters beneath the truncation of the portrait.
