Obverse description Central vignette presenting a portrait of Francisco de Vitoria (1492–1546), the Spanish Dominican friar, theologian, and professor at the University of Salamanca, rendered in intaglio against a fine guilloche underprint. The Spanish Coat of Arms appears in the upper left field. The note bears the date 19 de Febrero de 1946 and carries the facsimile signatures of the Governor, Auditor, and Cashier of the Banco de España across the lower portion.
