| Reverse description | Printed in blue using intaglio (calcography), the reverse is dominated by a large central vignette reproducing the celebrated painting Batalha do Riachuelo (Battle of Riachuelo), completed in 1872 by the Brazilian master Victor Meirelles de Lima (1832–1903), which commemorates the decisive naval engagement of the Paraguayan War. The issuer's title and the printer's imprint are inscribed in the upper and lower borders respectively. |
