| Descripción del anverso | Printed in green and red, the obverse carries a large Polish eagle vignette at left, set within an ornate oval frame with intricate guilloche scrollwork borders extending across the entire note. The denomination "500" appears in large numerals at upper left and right, with the central text block bearing the issuing authority's declaration and date of 15 January 1919, surmounted by the bold title "PIĘĆSET MAREK POLSKICH" across the top. A smaller eagle underprint and the inscription "POLSKA KRAJOWA KASA POŻYCZKOWA" appear at lower center, with penalty clause text in the lower right panel. |

The Polska Krajowa Kasa Pożyczkowa was not a Polish creation in spirit — it was established in 1916 by the German occupation authorities as a monetary instrument for administering the territory carved from Russian Poland. By 1919, the newly sovereign Polish state had inherited both the institution and its outstanding notes, continuing to issue under the same name while the political ground had shifted entirely beneath it.
This 500 Mark denomination belongs to that transitional moment, when Polish monetary policy was still operating through German-designed infrastructure. The marka polska was replaced by the zloty in 1924, after hyperinflation had rendered notes of this face value nearly worthless in daily use.
