The denomination "Fünfhundert" is rendered in large, decorative Expressionist-style lettering across the centre, with "MARK" below it in a matching blackletter typeface, flanked on both sides by the circular underprint of the Altona municipal seal. The issue title "AUSHILFSSCHEIN DER STADT ALTONA" appears at the top, with the legal tender clause, place, date of 8 October 1922, and four manuscript signatures of city officials arranged in the lower half. |
