Obverse description An intaglio portrait vignette of President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in a formal suit is placed within a ruled oval frame at the right of the note, against a fine guilloche underprint in brown tones. The centre carries the large numeral '500' and the denomination legend in Turkish, with the bank title across the top and three manuscript signatures of bank officials below, including the Umum Müdür (General Manager), Başkan Muavini (Deputy Governor), and Emisyon ve Vezne Müdürü (Director of Issue and Treasury). Serial number and series identifier appear twice on the face, and the date clause referencing the authorising law is printed in small text beneath the denomination.

Reverse description A large scenic vignette in brown intaglio occupies the centre of the note, presenting a panoramic view of the Hippodrome of Constantinople with the ancient Egyptian Obelisk of Theodosius and the Serpent Column in the foreground, and the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque) with its six minarets rising prominently in the background against an open sky. The composition is framed by intricately engraved geometric and floral border patterns, with the denomination numeral '500' repeated in the upper corners alongside the legend '500 TÜRK LİRASI', and the bank title centred along the bottom margin.
