Obverse description	At centre-left, an intaglio portrait of Ștefan cel Mare faces right, set against a multicoloured guilloche underprint with three vertical decorative elements and a central rosette; the state Coat of Arms of the Republic of Moldova appears at upper left, accompanied by the inscriptions REPUBLICA MOLDOVA and BANCA NAȚIONALĂ A MOLDOVEI. The nominal value 500 is rendered in figures at left and right, with CINCI SUTE LEI in words, alongside the NBM logo, the facsimile signature of Governor D. Drăguțanu, the circle wording PE-UN PICIOR DE PLAI, PE-O GURĂ DE RAI…, the victory token V, the year of issue 1992, banknote series and serial number, and the statutory inscription FALSIFICAREA ACESTOR BILETE SE PEDEPSEȘTE CONFORM LEGILOR.

Reverse description	A vignette of the Cathedral of Chișinău occupies the centre within a decorative frame, below which the inscription CHIȘINĂU. CATEDRALA appears; three vertical decorative elements flank the central design. At right, a stylised rendition of Trajan's Column and the Column of Infinity is separated by a crescent moon, while the Coat of Arms of Ștefan cel Mare is also present. The inscription BANCA NAȚIONALĂ A MOLDOVEI and the NBM logo appear alongside the nominal value 500 rendered in figures and CINCI SUTE LEI in words.
